  • starting to fly! Love it!

Hello guys i hope uve all been well.....

Im getting there now... an hour i cleared out my front room and got out my heli.. (the misses was happy...lol... ) i charged it up and turned it on, i first practised walking the heli around the floor makeing sure it was set up ok and so i got the feel of the heli...

I decieded to try and do some hover hops i was doing then quite well but because the other day i snaped the landing gear it keeped coming lose again so i put 1 off my training gear clips on it and it held it nicely,, so i continued doing hops.......

after about ten hops i decieded to try and hover my heli..
Man its hard but great have!

on my 4th try i did it i was hovering for about 1 minute, then again for about 1 minute 30 seconds before i lost control and started to wobble so i landed, but every time i land the landing gear comes off so i have to clip it back again but i dont mind doing that its so worth it..

Im going to buy a upgrade landing gear for my dragonfly 4, its called a
xtremeskids, its ment to make my heli more stable to fly and alot stronger hopefully it will be hear a few days,, anyone heard of or got one of these???
    im buying it from RCMODS.co.uk

Well im gonna go and have one last go on my heli for the night...
    HAPPY FLYING GUYS HAVE FUN!

    Hi Marc
Glad to hear your getting on well. It's a great feeling actually feeling like you've got the upper hand and are in control of the heli and not the other way around!!
I had a Honey Bee and was always breaking the skids (and other bits) but what turned it around for me was a sim. I really got my confidence with that and didn't need the superglue as often

    Happy flying
    Cheers, Lee.

I had the xtreme skids on my walkera 4 before I sold it on eBay - got if from blinktrading I think? Very worthwhile mod imo and strenthened it up no end. Just a shame about the rest of the heli....

      Good luck

Andersuk,,, cheers mate. yeh the skids look good, and your right shame about the rest of the heli but my 2006 model is ok and was very cheap...
hopefully the skids will help me hover abit better or atleast stop me snaping the landing gear untill i learn how to fly...
But you can never have enouth heli's i think..lol..
i just got a picoZ micro heli its a great little toy and fun and the kid loves it..lol

        happy flying guys!

          xtreme skids or superskids

Hi, anyone know where to buy these in the UK? I can only find rcmods who sell the xtreme skids.
Also if anyone has a list of online suppliers where I can get Twister cp2 spares/upgrades I would appreciate it.

          Thanks
          Ian

Ive Made some which are currently on ebay too. Work well on my sabre..

                Link - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...3585&rd=1&rd=1

Theyre also on the classifieds on here.

I found my brothers twister v2 and my sabre std skids broke too easilly so i developed my own design and made a few spare for my fellow club members.

I also lengthened them a bit and modified the tail skid. its much better, the tail skid doesn;t hit the floor now.

I'm changing them to carbon legs and araldite bonding as the brass tube and cyano were not up to the job.

Mine is currently flying on solid aluminium skids and silver solder wire (expensive) which is heavier but I need it untill i learn how to fly it!

7.00 pounds per set including postage.

                        I ended up buying these - http://www.buzzflyer.co.uk/RC-Helico...et--/p-90-327/
                        They look similar.
I'll report back if they are any good. Ordered them this morning and now the website reports out of stock - hope mine arrive!

I have found them a little slow, but it was the run up to Xmas, so I made an allowance. Heliguy however was there next day when I ordered a couple of spares for something else.
