Hi guys. I actually found this site through sheer frustration & i think its fantastic! I am new to RC Helicopters but i have had 3 different ones for about 18 months but not used them since i first brought them. I brought the M.A.S.H, Twister Coastguard & Honeybee king 2 helicopters. I got that fed up with smashing them that i put them in my shed to rot! Well, about a week ago i got the bug back again & this time i wont give up no matter how much it costs!! (within reason) The one that i cant do anything with is the Honeybee king 2. When i first had it i couldnt stop the tail turning no matter what i did. It turned as much as the blades & this is why i gave up with it. Anyway, i have now fetched it back out & i have tried & tried to get the tail to stop spinning & my lack of experience isnt helping & i cant do anything with it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Great site guys.

The gyro might be in reverse... (should be a switch on the gryo to change it)

Howdy,
I've got a honey bee king 2, and I hate it lol.
1.Does the little red light on the Gyro flash?
2.Let it flash for about 13 seconds
3.DO NOT MOVE THE HELI UNTILL THE LIGHT HAS STOP BLINKING
4.if the tail keeps spinning, try moving the tail servo forward or backward, if it is spining to the right, move the tail servo to the nose a bit, if it is spining left move to the back a bit.
5. if it is still spining try moving the little dial on the gyro, fiddle about with it untill it flys good.
I have a Esky HH gyro for sale, much better than the stock gyro. £15?? Pm if you want it.I left the hobby 3 years ago and discovered Women.
I wish I never left.

Hi Steve
I do not have a HBK2, but I do have an Esky Cool, which is very similar, and the sweetest little bird you could wish for.
Sounds to me a gyro problem, so first check everything is moving in the right direction.
Before these, it might be an idea to unplug the motor. You will be playing with a hot heli, so safety first.
Check 1 stick direction.
Switch on, and let everything settle for a few moments.
Now, rotate the head until one of the tail blades is upright. From the rear, tilt the upright blade back towards you to about 45 degrees.
If you push the rudder stick to the left, the blade should move to the right, and vice versa.
If it goes the right way, move on. If it doesn't, need to reverse the rudder channel,
channel 4 on the transmitter
Now to gyro sense.
If you have gain control on the gyro, turn it up to full, makes the movement easier to see.
Now, push the rudder stick to the left. Note the way the servo behaves. Does it pull the rod away from the tail, or push it towards it?
Centre the stick, and then quickly flick the tail of the heli to the left. The servo should move in the same direction as earlier
In other words, the gyro is mimicking the correcting movement you would make on the stick.
My suspicion is you will find it moving the opposite way. If so, you need to reverse the gyro.
Not sure which one you have fitted. Do these checks, and then let me know the results, then we'll see.
Worth perservering with this heli. It will fly a treat.
Hope this helps
Cheers

Hi Steve
Just had a thought. Silly question, but is your tail rotor rotating in the right direction?
My Cool is shaft drive, but the HBK2 is belt. If you have crashed it, you must have had to reassemble the tail/belt.
Belt needs twisting by 90 degrees, and it is very easy to get wrong.
On most of my helis, with the main rotor going clockwise, the tail, viewed from the rotor side, should rotate anti-clock. I believe this is pretty standard.
Just a thought, but very easy to check.
Let us know how you are getting on.
Cheers

Hi Steve
Can't believe how many people are saying 'buy a better heli'
Don't accept that. I have had several E-Sky pass through my hands, and all have been good fun. Mind you, to really seal my fate, I like Walkeras as well.
Confession is good for the soul.
Rather than drastic measures, lets work the problem systematically. Let me know how far you have got with your checking.
If worst comes to worst, rather than abandon it, send the whole plot to me. I will fix it, for cost of post, plus any bits I replace.
Think of this as a last resort.
With the combined expertise of this forum, I think we can guide you to a solution. The experience you gain, if you sort it yourself, will be well worth the time.
Cheers
Jeff
