    hi all,
iv recently purchased a mini titan from the "bay", the older version not the se. it came with a tg6100m, now im a begginner and cant get my head around what this little bugger is for?! i understand it is a head lock gyro, and a E-ccpm system, but being a newbie these are just little complicated words to me.

I have just got a lend of a futaba pcm r146i receiver, now looking at the gyro and the receiver leads, i don't no where to start?! there are obviously 4 leads from the four servo's and from speed controller, but there are another five leads from this gyro?! what do I do with the other leads from the gyro?!

im a bit lost to say the least, any help much appreciated!

The TG6100M is a combined Gyro and mixer unit.

The Gyro part sits between your receiver and tail control servo and counteracts the main blade torque by controlling the tail control servo.

Normal and Heading hold mode mean that you can select to have the unit react to all of the helicopters torque movements in a 'conventional' fashion, requiring constant pilot input to maintain a steady heading in the hover but allowing the tail to 'follow' the model when in forward flight.
In heading hold the gyro will offer a more 'locked in' feel in the hover and will require less input while hovering, and during aerobatics.

CCPM or ECCPM stands for (electronic) Cyclic Collective Pitch Mixing - Simply put, rather than using 1 servo for collective pitch, 1 servo for elevator and 1 servo for roll, the system uses all three servos combined to provide all three movements - There are advantages and dissadavntages of both systems and these have been argued to death on many forums - USE SEARCH

Your system is designed to allow a non CCPM (computer) transmitter to control the helicopters mixing functions.

The leads on the left will plug into the receiver. On Futaba use 1 for aileron (roll), 2 for elevator, 3 for throttle (speed controller), 4 for rudder (tail) and 6 for pitch.

OK that is the answer to your question (I think,) now for the advice - Please try and find a club or at least a friendly RCHA member who is close to you who can talk you through the heli and all it's parts - This will save you hours and could prevent you wrecking the model before you even get a chance to start enjoying it..

          Simon,
how do you have the FF9 set up? If you have the model set to helicopter in the parameter menu then I don't think it will work.

To make this unit function I believe that you will need to set up the transmitter in aeroplane mode - have you tried this?

          Cheers
