  • What rate to charge my lipos at????

Hello all, i need to no at what rate (amp) to charge my lipos at on my new imax b6 charger, i have a 1800mah 20c pack, a 2200mah 25c pack and a 2200mah 35c pack, all are 11.1volts. Thanks for the help in advance. Cheers

For the 1800mah pack charge at a max of 1.8 amps which is equal to 1C. Likewise with the 2200mah packs charge them at a max of 2.2 amps.

Although i have no solid proof to back this up, if you are not in a hurry to get them charged, charge then with less amps. ie. charge them at 1amp. Some say that it puts less stress on the battery and increases its life... May be complete rubbish, but it makes sense to me!

I always charge them at .1 a less what this pack is.

      i.e a 11.1v 1800mah pack i would charge at 11.1v 1.7a.

but most of the times i put a slow charge into them like 1800mah i charge at 1.1a...

      hope this helps.

      good luck .

Whats the point shoving max amps into a battery if you are not in a hurry? Fine when at the field and you want to fly, but at home in an evening time when time is not a factor.

Cant be any worse for the battery charging it slower

I think your math is a little off, mate. If you have 4x450's, that equals 1800

Getting back to the charging.....you're absolutely right. Charging at a lower C will prolong the life of your batteries

0.5C for the first half a dozen charges on a new pack.
0.5C when it's not time critical.
1C when the weather clears and in a rush between p*ssing rain showers.
