  • which sim for beginner

starting to look at sims now, most people seem to recommend phoenix but can you tell me is there much difference between phoenix and reflex. which is the easiest to setup and use and which is the best for realism and feel,or is there anything else that compares with these
    thank you andy

I have both XTR and Phoenix and IMHO Phoenix is the better of the two.

Well im six months in the hobby and if my help counts then I would say Phoenix as it has helped my to fly 3d very well.

If only I could do what I can in the sim with the re heli.

Phoenix does everything I have ever wanted. I chose it because at the time it was cheaper (may not be now), the graphics are brilliant and the upgrades are free - never regretted it - saved me a fortune in crash repairs

I've got Reflex, it's a good sim once it's up & running but it was a real bitch to set up & get the Raptor characteristics right. Also it seems like the upgrades and additional models that used to be available aren't there anymore. If I was going to buy another first sim I'd definitly go for Phoenix!

For me, Phoenix has been an excellent tool and has really helped me learn. I'm sure it will be as useful to you. The physics are good, although I feel the stock models are too "light" feeling and the engines too powerful.

Yeah, I tried Reflex briefly and I liked the way it looks in general and some of the models available but before I got round to getting it really running accurately I ended up getting Phoenix.

I have no comparison but pheonix does what I want and feels pretty much identical to the real thing (apart from gravity) and its resonably priced too.

You carn't go wrong if you get phoenix, most people on here use it so that speaks for itself really.

I haven't used any other sim but learnt to hover with phoenix and it saved me a fortune which is what it's all about imo.

anyw, this subject has been thrashed out so many times on the forum and will probably continue until a newer and better product emerges, but Phoenix is the best rated sim IMHO.......so, just buy it, learn from it, but never blame anyone one else for any of your mistakes!!!!! lol.......

Ohh, and buy the missus something nice in return.....
