change mode 1 to a mode 2

Can you change a mode 1 spektrum to a mode 2 ?
It's a dx5e

lt can be done but its not made as a mode changable tx. lts a lot of work.

I've got a fairly beat up Dx6i, I was having trouble with the trim switches so decided to pull the back off and have a look inside.
I noticed that apart from the printed circuit board there's not much else in there, all the switches and sticks just plug on to the PCB and are almost symetrical.
So I'd guess if you cant do it by re-asigning the channels you could probably do it by swapping the plugs over on the PCB.
Not sure how it'd affect throttle/pitch mixing etc though.
Might be worth a try if all else fails???
