  • CX2 help please.

    Hi Guys and Girls.
Need a little help please. My Blade CX2 has been flying like a dream the last few days. Really doing well with it, until today. It's been flying spot on since I trimmed it all up, but for some reason, today, it has decided that it want's to fly backwards at a fair rate of knots as soon as the skids leave the ground. This is the first time it has done this since the trim. normally it goes straight up to one meter and just sits there without any control input, but today is different. I've checked battery balance, rotors, main shaft, swash plate etc... all seems to be ok. I haven't crashed it, nothing's bent or broke, but I have to use full forward elevator trim to get it to hover. Apart from that, it still flies perfectly. Anyone got an idea what's wrong, please?

    Chris.
Please don't rush me, I'm in too much of a hurry.

    CX2. Love it.
HoneyBee 2CP being a right pain. Need a new hammer.

      Hi Bill.
Just re-checked the swashplate. No, it's fine. As long as I keep the trim tab fully forward, it flies and hovers perfectly. Just wondering if one of the motors is on it's way out.

      Chris.

        Chris.

If a motor is on the way out, they generally seem to spin one way or the other, or just be low powered. Check the servo movement is all good, and the links between servo and swashplate. Also make sure the links from swahplate to lower blades are all good. Cant think what else could cause it.

Unlikely - if one of the motors was on its way out it would yaw and would feel as if you had little rudder control.
Make sure the cetre of gravity is still in the right place. It is possible that the battery is a different type or not fully installed? The battery in Mrs Leeberts CX2 was a bit of a sod to get fully in sometimes and if it wasn't fully home it would not hover and would fly backwards.
Have you changed anything else? battery type... different heli body etc?
          Cheers

Found problem. The battery cradle was loose. Tightened it up. Also, the battery charging cable was hanging out the back. Tucked it away and little heli shot forwards. Adjusted trim to normal and HOORAY!!! Back in normal flight mode. Phew!!! Thank Heavens.

            Thanks for your help Guys.
