  • Pairing Brushless motors and ESC's

    Hi Guys,
Currently I have two 450 class heli's that both spin 360 deg plus at motor startup. They have different motors and different ESC's, one heli was purchased complete from SkyRC and the other I have built from scratch.
I have replaced the original esc in the SkyRC heli with an emax programmable and even with soft start the heli spins on startup.
I then put an Emax HL2215 450 class motor in an HK450 and used the original esc on that and get the same problem. However with this esc I don't think it's programmable. The motor squeals before turning as if the frequency is too high then suddenly spins up as you gently increase throttle which spins the heli violently.
Any suggestions as to the problem or have I got to keep trying replacement motors/esc's until I find a pair that actually like each other.
    Many thanks
    Paul

Turn your throttle curve down if you have a digital tx so that at start up it only uses xx amount of throttle then once its turning you can build the speed up.
For example my normal is set to 0. 60. 70. 70. 70, only have to move it 2mm or so to get it to spool then just wang it to mid stick, but thats how I like it you could start it as low as you want unless you wish to run linear at 0. 25. 50. 75. 100

    Before you ask:

    About 2 miles
    Over £500
    Very difficult
    Over 80mph
NO, you can't have a go

Some ESC's just don't do soft start even when they say they do

        Cheers Guys,
Throttle curve is linear sqwidge 0,25,50,75,100 cos it's not been flown yet.
Anybody else got any suggestions as to an ESC that might work or do I have to buy a 450xl motor and esc from Align?
Or anybody out there prepared to lend me a different motor/esc to experiment?
