  • what the hell is wrong with it?!

My old man has just gave me a walkera 35, well thats wot i think it is to have a play with. Iv got other small heli's, but all in repair after enthusiastic landings. So my old man thought he would lend me mine to keep practising as im still learning the game.
Problem is as soon as the heli gets a couple of inches from the deck, it starts spinning anti clockwise uncontrollably, now everything is plugged in the the rx in the correct place, and the gyro and rudder is working properly. Iv read somewhere it could be something to do with the pitch and the rotor rpm not working at the right speed and too much pitch being applied using the pitch knob on the tx, thus not giving enough torque to the tail rotor to stop it spinning.

Any ideas?! im really missing flying especially with the lovely weather we having, Iv enjoyed spinning around and around and around on the back field, but not that much!
    please?!

try the gyro reverse switch. Sounds like its over correcting the wrong way? Sounds like you need a RC heli book and a sim too lol.

I agree, sounds like the gyro direction needs changing on the gyro itself

Have you got it in heading hold? does the tail servo centre when you power it up fo you put it to one side before

just switched it all on, defo in heading hold mode, in normal mode, tail servo centres when I switch it on, and rudder inputs seem to be working okay

Are you sure you have checked the gyro switch not the direction on the transmitter, there will be a little switch on the gyro itself which should say norm one way and reverse the other, which ever it is now, change it, then un plug it, plug it back in and try it again.
If not i have run out of ideas

if you fly normal mode what happens? can you counteract the spinning with a rudder input?

nope same thing happens just spins wildly, tried everything from reversing the gyro to flying in normal mode like you say. tried chanding pitch and head speed, to no avail.

Blade tracking is out a way, but wouldn't have thought this would make it spin so wildly?

its really bugging me, but i wont be beat

dont know much about these hwli's but if its a belt drive tail check to make sure its on the right way so that the tail rotors turn the right way when you turn the main rotor other than that is the tail blades on the right way ?

when on the tail rotor turns anticlockwise, and the blades are on the right way, its bizzare its a weird heli.

As a begginner I know this is a stupid question, but when reversing gyro do you have to unplug the gyro itself or just disconnect batt and speed control, i have been doing the latter.

Normally just a little switch on the gyro.

When you spin the blades clockwise the tail blades should be going up.

Maybe worth trying to reverse the gyro with the heli unplugged, take the gyro out of the reciever then connect it back up.See if that works mate.
