  • It was my fault after all !!

Since I first came on here last year for beginners advice I have slated my CenturyUK Neon Blaze as being crap. I have even had bad thoughts about it in the middle of the night when the gremlins come and openly slagged it off in public to anyone who would listen.

Well tonight while getting my King2 ready for a couple of batteries hovering practice in the back garden I noticed the elevator servo had died. I felt a bit miffed then thought damn it - I'll try that crappy Neon Blaze again after it had spent months collecting dust in the garage after the last repairs.

Wow what a difference, really stable, gentle responses, I could position it just where I wanted it, minutes on end of nose in without drifting more than a couple of feet (it was dead calm) - in short a real confidence builder. I loved every minute flying it.

So I've discovered the truth - nothing wrong with the heli at all - it was me that was crap all the time

Well done for having the bottle to say it.

Maybe we should have a Mea Culpa Forum?

can't say this as fact but bet same could be said of many helis that get a slating. Figured now its me 98% of the time 2% heli
My first thought on my Beam after fighting with it for 8 flights is...this is bag of poo!!
And before anyone jumps down my kneck. I don't belive that for one sec....
98% 2%. Once i understand the problem sure i'll love it...

I even turned on the 500 watt Halogen outside light and flew it again at 11pm. Absolute peach - couldn't believe it and as I started to gently throw it about the garden I'm sure it was enjoying itself.

          Must modify my sig.

I am in total agreement mate, i have a neon blaze cp and thought it was a pile of the smelly stuff, got it last xmas and must have dug it into the dirt at least 4 times, replaced the tail boom (which is a bit tricky) and servo's which id knacked.
Then I decided to purchase a twister gold cp, 80 quid from ebay all in, just for the tail lock gyro effect and it being belt driven, what a twitchy ar*ed thing that is even with little pitch in and little throttle, and any breeze and its into the next county
Got the neon blaze back out and into stable hovers and comfortable forward flight, basically having only clocked about half a dozen flights I was poo and blamed the heli, I prefer the blaze to the twister and would recommend this as a good starter heli, come back blaze all is forgiven ....

Hi Simon. Glad someone else found the Neon Blaze to be a decent heli. I was beginning to wonder whether it was just me who could enjoy flying quirky birds

                  Cheers
