  • RC Heli Jargon

i've Been reading a lot of this forum recently!! and I seem to come across a lot of jargon that is alien to me. Any chance that the more experienced members can put on this thread some of the jargon that is used and explainations please? Two I came across today are ' Spool Up ' and ' HH '

    Hi mate,

    To answer you question..
'Spoolup' is basically the acceleration or rotary motion of the main blades from a standstill or zero throttle.

'HH' is heading hold- As in, the Gyro I use on my heli is a heading hold gyro.
    Cheers,

    Gazza

HH or 'head hold' is also known as 'head lock'

Perhaps there should be a heli jargon sticky in the main forum ?

Rather than setting more forums, I've added a few sections into FAQ.

              http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/faq.php

I've started with grouping certain elements and putting in main headings I'll start to put some text in as well as pictures to try and help explaining things.
              Cheers

Is this any good to you http://www.swift-tuning.com/glossary.php

It might not have all the jargon but it helped me to understand some of what is being said on here.
