  • Painting of Canopies - Paint, Materials etc

I recently converted my BCX2 usin the Xtreme Productions upgrade kit. Am currently using a BCX yellow canopy which looks good with the white chassis and carbon fibre tail boom.

With the Xtreme kit, an unpainted canopy is supplied with various decals. Its quite a mean looking canopy, so it will look good with a nice paint job.

My query is: what paint, materials, paint gun, methods etc are best to use for such work, or is it simpler to have it done professionally. Only painting I have done is on scale plastic models.

Another thing, the clear plastic canopy has a pull of layer on the outside. There is a label on the canopy saying to pull of the clear prtective layer AFTER painting! This doesnt make sense to me...

Any advice in this regard would be appreciated!
    Thanks a lot!

the clear plastic canopy is painted on the inside (the same way you paint rc car bodyshells),
