  • What to add to the basket??

    Hi,

I've been flying my Twister hawk for about 3 months now and it's fair to say I've used it to it's limit. I'm looking at pursuing the hobby further and with my birthday coming up and the money I've saved I'm thinking about getting a Blade 400 3D.

So far this is what I have got on the list:

    E-Flite Blade 400 3D
Pheonix V2 sim (Is the buddy cable it comes with compatable with a DX6i??)
    A spare set of blades
Other bits and bobs (like neck straps ect.)

I have read that the blade 400 is a great starter heli, so is this a good choice??

Also is there anything else I need to add to the list or improve on??

    Many Thanks in Advance,

    Adam.

yeh to learn CP helis the blade aint too bad ... but like n e thing its made to a price .... Think the normal lead that comes with the sim fits straight in the back ... If not i might have one lying around here somewhere as i use futaba .. gis a shout if you have n e probs and will see if its still here ....Sim is the way to go though ... Dont forget insurance and also if you can get someone that knows what they doing to set it up and test fly it for you .. just some thoughts for the day

        Hi Adam,

Yes the cable that comes with Phoenix is compatible with the DX6i

As for the Blade 400, why not, good little heli and room for upgrades as you progress

          Thanks for the swift replies.

Yes, I will be getting insurance and I plan to fly at a local club (Bury Model Flyers).

Once I begin my new part time job I'll slowly upgrade the heli and add to the collection.

          Thanks,

          Adam.

            Hi,

I went to my Local model shop today to have a chat and see what they have in stock.

After a lengthy chat about local clubs, I asked about his thoughts on the Blade 400. The guy in the shop said that it was a good heli to start with but a Mini Titan kit would be far better and more stable than the Blade in windy conditions.

So what do you think about the Mini Titan??

Also I am now considering a Rappy 30 (Link: Colchester A1 Models - Aircraft, Cars, Boats, Railway, Scalextric, Radio Control and More. - RAPTOR 30 V2 PRO ARTF W/PRO-39H) and saving for longer so I can get nitro instead.

            Any opinions guys 'n gals??

            Many Thanks in Advance,

            Adam
