DS420 on a Trex 450?

Evening all. Have a DS420 Tail Servo on my Trex 450, and after checking other Trex 450's it appears that the DS420 is better suited and more apparent on the T-rex 250... and that I may need to fit a DS520 back onto my heli. I am only at a very dosile hovering stage at the moment in my 'flying career'... will this configuration last (Align RCE-600 Gyro with DS420 on a T-rex 450 SE V2)

if your hovering you should be fine. not too long ago that type of servo was the considered one to have on tail. i wouldn't worry about it.

Ive just put one on a mates Mini Titan and it works brilliant. Only other test is to see how long they last. Looking okay so far though.

I thought that's how the Align servo numbering worked..

DS420 = T450 size
DS520 = T500 size
DS620 = T600 size

so on that basis the DS420 shold be fine on your T450.

I've got a DS520 on my Trex500 and it's OK so far for basic manouvers. If you went up to the 520 on your T450 you might need a larger mounting kit if the servo if physically bigger..

Wil fit fine with the SEv2 Alloy mounts with the 2 holes for the bigger servos.

You could use the DS620 on your 500 with a 600 mount.

You could use the DS620 on your 500 with a 600 mount.

I also recently fitted a 620 to MattyDreds Trex 500. I got the old dremel out and modified the carbon plate on the stock 500 mount. If you be careful you can get it spot on. Works a treat!

The 'over-sized' servos work brilliant on the 500 don't they. BLS251 on mine was insane... Just now I want everything to lock in like my 500, hence the 9257 on 250 hehe.

Yeh man the tail is rock solid and very quick. Very crisp feeling and the stops are very quick even on the GY401 gyro. I think Matts going to be well happy with it.

I was considering this mod on mine before I bought a new gyro. I was told that you can mount the servo directly to the boom mounts throught the servo case so therefore's no need for the larger 600 size plate.

Can't remember who told me though..
