  • What all these witches for then?

    Evening all,

ive got a FF7 tx, and was wondering what i should have all these switches set-up for? i have the three way toggle set for normal and idle 1 (idle 2 disabled at the mo), and a is the throttle kill switch, but apart from that i dont have the rest of them set up for anything. what else should i be using these for?

Switch B for heading hold/ normal

(on top of the case) Throttle Cut top right (the one that doesnt hold its postion when fliped you have to hold it)

(on top again) Throttle hold bottom right (next to the switch above)

rest are used for dual rates.

I set idle 2 same as normal idle incase i flip it the wrong way!

Errrrrm, like it says on the tin, it holds the throttle.

You set the throttle hold to a fixed value, say just a little bit above normal tickover, so that you can practice autos without cutting the engine, which gives you a get out route if things go pear shaped. i.e. you still have all your pitch control, but the throttle is stuck at whatever value you are happy with.

Is also handy for making transmitter adjustments when the heli is running on the ground - put it into throttle hold and you can alter your pitch and throttle curves etc without fear of it leaping into the air when you move the pitch stick.

Throttle hold is also useful if you lose the tail. It's surprising how many pilots do not have this function turned on. I've watched heli's piroette into the ground which could have been saved if the hold had been activated.

Its also a good safety feature for electrics.... with hold on you can't fire it up by knocing the throttle open...
