    Hey all,

Just a quick note to say how happy I am with my little Buzzfly CX. It's giving me a load of pleasure. I'm now able to throw it around in-doors ... and doing so under control!! De-constucted it and then rebuilt it - to get experience re build.

I'm still struggling with the Buzzfly SE/ Walkera 4#3. Mo (Mojo) gave some good advice in a previous thread - this got me closest to getting the SE sorted.

I'm seriously excited about my next step.. a "grown-ups" heli. I think I want to do a build and not go RTF route - partly cost, partly as I enjoy build. I am genuinely confused, I start at the Belt CP and go up to the TREX 450. At this stage I don't see myself doing the full 3D thing (sure that may change ) , I just want to be able to fly a "big" heli outside!

    Cheers,

    Des

Hey Des welcome mate, whats your budget i would steer clear of the belt cp its an ok heli and it flies but from experience the build quality is poor and you spend more time mending than flying it
There are much better machines out there but as i say it all depends on your budget
but remember these imortal words buy right buy once
    Cheers Jim

Having been in a similar position to you Des, I went for the T-rex 500. I've just finished the build and will maiden it really soon.

Thanks chaps, those comments help - love the "buy right once" quote - makes imminent sense.

Jim - my budget is £350, would love to hear your suggestions.

          Cheers,
          Des

Keep practicing with the buzzfly SE, if you can get good with the SE you stand a good chance of flying a bigger heli without too many problems.
Its also well worth buying a simulator, phoenix is the most popular on the forum at the moment.

This is how I started out and im managing ok with the bigger heli's
I have a belt CP and I agree with the others who say dont bother, although the chassis is ok the stock electrics are poor and will hold you back and make it harder to fly.
I would keep an eye out or Trex450 SE2's as people upgrade to the new PRO in the next weeks there are some bargains about

Des your going to struggle for something decent new on that budget
if money wasnt so much of a factor i would say build yourself a beam cracking heli
but if you really cant stretch to that then as has been suggested look out for a second hand trex450 v2 also a good heli
What i did (sticking with the buy once buy right theory) was purchased the beam kit from rob at evo
Saved a little whilst i built the airframe then purchased the radio gear
then saved a little more to buy the gyro
Took me 3 months to complete but it was well worth the wait the beam is in its own class exceptional build quality lovely stable machine
and above all else second to none aftersales back up from at evorc
Hope this helps a little Cheers jim
