  • Help Please - What else do I need?

Hi everybody, no doubt this has been asked before, so I apologise in advance if this annoys you

    So far I have purchased:

    Raptor 50 ready built : Futaba 7ch 2.4ghz with Receiver & Sim : Gyro gy401 : Extension Starter Rod : Alignment set :

I know I will need Batts for the Receiver, but not sure what to get?
I also know I will need a Starter Motor, but again not sure which one?

Is there anything else that is essential to get this off the ground.

Would appreciate your input....Thankyou in advance!

    Cliff

        glow start.

if you decide to use a lipo for your rx pack you will need a regulator as well. i use a 4.8v ni mh pack (4300mah) it lasts me for a days flying easily.

starter i use a b,n,q 18v drill and have not had a problem. i also have a Turbex2 starter which is a cheap and chearfull, its been no problem but hasn't had a lot of use

Will add the Glowstart to the list, not sure what a lipo is though?

The drill is an idea, I just got a 18v Makita??

Don't know about a Gallon, isn't supposed to be Litres now

Remember you will need a lipo capable charger to go with it as well

                        Slow down

You don't need a LiPo for your RX unless you want to buy a regulator as well and the charger for the LiPo ...

A simple cheap NiMH RX pack will do fine at first then make up your mind if you want to spend more moving to a LiPo.

If you use a drill to start it, then make sure its turning the right way (reverse)

and you may want an onboard battery monitor for the 4.8v NiMH

Thanks to all....Think I will take your advice and leave the Lipo until a later date....I suppose I should wait until the Receiver arrives to determine the Voltage & Ampage....

I'll look for a Battery Monitor today.

Don't really want to use a Drill, but having trouble locating a Starter?

                            Cheers
