Are Deans the best/standard way to connect ESC to Batts?

Do any of you use any other style of connectors?

Sat here hoping the posty will hurry up, Rex 450 sat on the table with elecs laid out and waiting for my Spartan and S9257 to arrive. Also I seen on my LHS website they have grey Deans, do I take it these are copys? If so will they be ok to use or should I just order them from Aurorra?

Can ya tell I'm itching to get the heli together lol

    Cheers

I always used bullet connectors 4mm .. Most use deans though ... Go for the original deans as some people have had issues with copies

Its down to personal preference, there are pros and cons with both as with most things.
I personally use deans but only coz when i buy my batteries they come with deans already attached.

i use 4mm bullets no particular reason only when i started my mate was using them but there was a thread on this last year and i dont think there was clear cut answer as to which was the best but if you go for bullets get the ones from fast lads with the shrouds and always get genuine deans if you go that route

I have been using DEANS for a while now and TBH find them to be a bit of a pain.
They can be difficult to disconnect when you want to and can cause stress/strain on the connections if you have to pull hard.
That said I still use them and they do provide for a good solid connection.

I've used 3.5mm Corolees plugs for over a year now, nice positive connection, can't get the wrong way round, easy to solder and easy to get apart found Deans a pain. Not easy to solder and as said above you have to grip the wire to get apart

                Im same as Adrian,
found Deans a pain to disconnect, especially after flying and my hands were all sweaty from anxiety.

So I now use these, easy to disconnect & really easy to solder.

I use Deans as generally I think they are the most popular, and also can get them fairly easily.

With ppl saying use genuine/original, I haven't had any issues with the ones I have been using, which are 'Deans style' and seem to be max amp rated just as good as the 'original' Deans.

I have used the 'original' and also I have bought 'deans style' from Ashtec electronics, which I think are pretty good and have had no problems with them at all. They are also quite a bit cheaper than the 'Original' and I usually stock up on a load for spares for new lipos.

That said, I have also seen some pretty dodgy 'deans style' on some ppls lipos where the plastic seems to be inferior and melt if the soldering iron is on it too long.

If you find deans a pain to pull apart, you can try these LINKY

They have ridges on the body to aid pulling them apart.
