Hi, New to Heli's - "Twister CP"

Hey all,

Ive just got a Twister cp for my birthday, my first heli after fixed wings

Ive just charged my lipos on my new toy, and got the heli powered up.

Still on the ground it needs a lot of left rudder to stay straight, is this normal?

Now ive hit the video recorder ill give up in the house and wait till the weather gets better and go outside..

Any tips before the rain stops??

Need to know more..what Gyro are you using with what TX and the servo's. Have you any pics.

we could spend all year typing explanations on how to set stuff up. The best thing to do is find a local flier to help you set the model up.

Its just a standard CP rtf.. £199 job

I have flown in the garden now on 2 batts, it needs almost all left trim to fly without turning right, can i trim this out on the heli?

Oh, i would love a good Twister CP guide to read up on if anyone knows of one..

there is a couple of adjusters on the heli. once adjust the gain and the other adjusts the trim of the rudder.

turn the gain up until the tail wags then back it off a little

then use the other one to trim the tail out.

But remember to reset the 4 in one box after any changes to the adjusters by removing the battery for a second or two or they won't show up !!

ive adjusted the screw and need some calm weather to see how much to turn it.
Now ive flown into a bush into the garden to test it for impact resistance, where do i set the flybars paddles at, how much off level and if im off will it affect flight at all.. and where the tail rotor has 2 pegs that push into the gear can i s/glue this in to stop it falling out over and over again? it seems loose to me..

paddles should be straight. although some offset them to point upwards to make the model more stable.

its good to have weak links in the system. so that when you crash you avoid doing damage. Do the pegs fall out in the air or just when you crash?

Who said i crashed?????? you cant prove it.....

the tail rotor loosened a few times yesterday even before i "tested" it propperly, if it does come loose again ill have to glue it,

Don't glue it! I should have a small, 1/4 inch of silicon tube pushed onto shaft to stop it coming off, see below

can you take a picture of the bit your talking about? Just to make sure were talking about the same thing. Its been a while since i looked at a CP which isnt helping either.

I had seen a DVD on the twister FP set up from the manufacture..it says to adjust the gyro gain from min to max then back so you are about half way then go from there

My DVD didn't say anything of the sort. Maybe I'll get it out from under my tea cup and have another watch!

the tail rotor has the pegs slightly rounded so im just checking its tight before every takeoff, ok so far

I think the trick was to adjust the 4 in 1 realy small ammounts each time, ive put a new main gear and main shaft on and a new gear into the pitch servo.
after messing with the screws for what seemed like ages it finally flies good...
i was realy happy after the bad start.

the dvd and info in the box is totally useless but i know more now from everyones help.

Its fine in the air, its when it hits the ground that it all goes bad
