  • Is there a helicopter club in Rayleigh Essex

Does any one know how I can find out how to become involved with a local RC heli club? I live in Rayleigh, Essex.

How much do clubs charge to join on average?

    Regards,

    Tony

        BMFA Club list is here:

        http://www.bmfa.org/clubs/clist.php

and joining costs vary from 15 pounds and up depending if BMFA insurance is included or not. I think 50 pounds is the average but could be wrong

            Hi Tony,

Thank you for the reply - I've had a look on the club website too, looks good.

Sounds ideal, weekend after Easter would suit me best 18/19 April if you're free?

Is it OK if I pop down first to see what the club is like, before joining? After I've been I should be in a better position to decide if it is some thing I would like to partake in on a more regular basis.

By the way, your parents had superb taste in first names

            Regards,

            Tony

yes no problem, you can comedown take a look get to meet some of the guys that are there.

Ill be there probably the saturday afternoon and the sunday morning weather permitting.

Dont know if you are already a flyer or not but if you are and have your A cert and bmfa insurance then your more than welcome to come down for the day as a guest.

but if not just come down have a cuppa and laff at our attempts to fly.

If you have any questions queries etc, feel free to pm me, or post them up here on the forum.
              All the best

I think I'll just pop down, I'll wait until I've got more sim practice under my belt before I show you lot how good I am at crashing
