  • Fly Bar weights

Last night i took my fly bar weights off and tested out this morning with a little fly round the garden... did not notice any difference? do they make a big difference when on or removed?

when i started out flying a friend of mine set up the heli and moved them in about midway, i thought it made a big difference then but now unsure if it was the set up that made the biggest difference, or is it now due to me having more skill in flying that there less to notice? or do you notice on big moves of the weights along the flybar?

i would of thought a couple of factors count here. how heavy were your wheights?if they were just small wheel collets you probably wouldn't feel much difference and also as you say you can now fly better so your skill level will compensate for the small difference they did make.

      Without weights
      - the heli flips and rolls faster
      - it gets more sensitive to wind
      - it will need more control input in fast forwards flight
      - phase error may change (don't worry too much about that)
"How much" depends on the weight of your paddles. Probably they are heavy enough, so you don't feel much of a change. If we would change to ultra-light carbon fiber paddles (as an example only, unless you want to experience involuntary 3D hovering ), then it would make a huge difference.
