  • Twister CP or Bell 47

Hi me again. Despite all the advice from people especially from ade. Im still torn over which one to get.The Twister CP RTF (which ade assures me is, let me quote "Evil" ) Or the Twister Bell 47.

Ade says The bell 47 is really good and i wont regret it. But, just look at it, its so ugly. i think it is.

What you guys think for my first heli.

looks to me that you are set on the cp twister! in the long run it will be more fun but it will be a little harder to fly and hover and more expencive to maintain/fix!! the twister Bell 47 has a contra rotating head and it is super stable , easy to fly and hover and bumps will be rare! but you cant loop, or roll it, it is just a simple indoor flier to wet your appetite to helis.

lots of people are starting on the bell 47 and within a few weeks they are selling them on that popular auction site and getting as nice IC heli

    Id get the cp twister!

      Hey Dan

just read your other post, With your budget go for the bell 47 it will wet your appetite until you can afford a bit more, the twister will be quite twitchy for a first model and you will need a heli flier to help u set it up. The bell will fly out of the box!

If you have any nitro cars left you could try sell one! they make good money on that auction site!

        Hi Dan
my 1st heli was the twister medevac its a bit nicer than the bell 47 and a real joy to fly
i have now purchased a twister 3d and it is realy nice but twitchy id say you would be better of with the bell or medevac for a start then go upto the cp if you get on with that ok

just a thought check out the esky lama2 v3 this seems to be a nice little heli on the same theme as the bell 47 or medevac but the spares more so the blades are much cheaper 1 pair of blades for the twister are £8.99 3 pairs for the lama2 are £6.95 from buzzflyer search the net there are some great deals on this little heli

thanks for the replys. In the last thread i put £110 as a budget for electronics not the heli. I was gonna buy the heli and then spend a further £110 on electronics.

          Im still torn though

Well Dan, there are several choices here, either, you spend the budget you have and get the Bell 47, which is a nice model to fly and will see you through the learning to hover and orientation stage. Or Save up your money, get a paper round or something and buy that Twister 3d you first mentioned.

If I was in your position I would save up for the Twister, in the mean time you could get a transmitter and a simulator to get some practice in while you get the money together for the model itself.

            Just a thought.

            Cheers,
            Pete.

can someone list good points of both heli's for me. Preferably someone who has had either.

Ive also added a poll to the thread now.

              Thanks

Well the Bell 47 which is fun and can be flown indoors, (and with our weather is not a bad thing,) and outside on a very calm day. The Bell is great to get an idea of heli's, but with personal experience we out grew the bell fairly quickly and wanted something more challenging, so we upgraded to a Cp V2 and Twister 3D. Which are a lot more difficult to fly but you get more satisfaction from them, only 1 problem is they are a bit to big for your average front room to fly, and you really need a sports hall or a very calm day outside. Which limits your flying time. I think you should go for the CP V2, but its not as stable as the Twister 3D. So you could always be patient and save for what you really want.
OR if you look on the BMFA classifieds there are a couple of Twisters with all but transmitter for sale second hand.

I think im going to go for the Twister CP, and then at xmas either get a Knight 50 or Twister 3D. Depends if there is anything else i want for xmas and how confident im feeling with the whole Helicopter scene, not saying i wont like it, just find it hard with doing it on my own.

no it isnt. but i was mad. She has a good point, but so do I. And she always says no to everything i ask for, and its always her descision. and it shouldn't be.

What i would give to be young again

You could always point out to your mother that 9 year olds and younger are flying 90 size nitro helis better than i ever could

im 14..... 15 on september the 3rd. So remember guys id be more than happy to accept presents from all of you lol. After i shouted at her all night last night because she didnt want to listen. I asked her again this morning and she says i dont know yet. And i said, shall i bother ordering my charger yet then, because if i order a charger that doesnt charge li-pos now then if i do get a heli i would need a new charger, so she sais just wait..... Shes going to take me to see my uncle trevor down bournemouth. He has about 60 planes and 7 helicopters, just the man i need to speak to .... as soon as i have kids, forget giving them a teddy, its a 6ch transmitter lol
