  • Reading area anyone?

    Hi everybody, newbby here

Well, I've been flying (and crashing) my blade 400 for just over 1 month.

I usually flight in a park near my home but when the weather is perfect for flying it is also good for football/dog walking and all sort of outdoor activities. Therefore the park gets full of people and it is really difficult for a newbby like myself fly when there are people around (Safety first as we never know when/where we are going to crash)

So I'm wondering if there is anyone near Reading/Berkshire who knows some good place to flight on weekends?

    Cheers,
    Abner

Astro, get yourself down to Madejski Stadium on April 25th, indoor flying event on. Plenty of people from this area will be able to give you advice/tips and details of flying sites.
Am pretty sure that the BMFA covers you for flying on your own as well, not just registered sites (at least I hope it does, cos I don't go to any flying sites!!!)

you are quite right you may fly in any public/private place as long as there is no by laws and you have the consent of the land owner,in the case of a public place you must seek advice from the local council first!then you will be covered by your bmfa insurance!(quoted from the bmfa head office 2 mins ago)

I live in Newbury but I fly in my local parks as well.

As far as I know there is a club in Windsor but membership is only available once a year so I guess they are quite picky who they let in. There is meant to be a club in Newbury but I am yet to investigate further. Want to get to a reasonable level of compitence before I go there.

The BMFA does country membership for someone who doesn't belong to an affiliated club.
