  • T-Rex 600, That's My Final Answer!!

Ok after a few weeks deliberating over various IC and Electric Helli's I've finally taken the plunge and brought a T-Rex 600 (Sorry Ade !) my final spec is as follows.

    T-Rex 600 CF
    Futaba FF9
    Futaba 149DP PCM Receiver
3x Futaba S3151 Servos for Cyclic
Futaba 401 Gyro with 9254 Servo
    2 x Align 4200Mah 6S2P LiPo's
    Robbe Power Peak Fun Charger

I think thats about it! I feel all floaty, like a big weight has been lifted from my wallet..

Thanks a lot to everyone who has posted on my other threads, the advice and knowledge on this forum is second to none! Special thanks to Ade for answering all my silly questions

looks like I have some building to do! Then all that practice on the SIM better pay off!!!!

    Andy

P.S. Ade, there could still be an IC in the future I'm not sure if one Helli is enough for any man..!! (Don't tell the missus!)

Glad you have made a decision and good luck with the new heli, it certainly looks like a good setup. Don't worry too much about Ade, I have been having a similar problem deciding on a 50 and will be ordering a knight on monday so no doubt I will be experiencing the same floatly empty wallet feeling very shortly

      Nice one Craig! Thanks mate.

I was very close to buying a Knight, but I went practicing with my IC car today ready for tomorrows race, and that just reminded me why I wanted an electric Helli in the first place.

i'd have gone with FP 6s 4900mAh packs rather than the align ones but I'm still jealous

                      Ade

600 is far and away better. No slop, minimal frame flex makes the Swift chassis seem like a bowl of custard

Swift still flies OK though the 600 is just more solid. Kit quality and finish is obviously poorer than higher end stuff, particularly noticeable on the finish on the frame edges and cutouts

                        Symon,

I would love to get a balancer, but they don't make one for the Aligne packs yet! I know I could make the coveter lead MartinM made for the flight power balancer, put my skills with a soldering iron are non existent maybe if I ask him nicely he would make me one so I can buy a flight power balancer...

I have E-Mailed Align to find out when their stand alone balancer will be coming out, so I'll see what they say.

I'm sooooo exited! I can't wait my first heli....!!!!

                          AGW,

I'd strongly recommend getting a balance charger instead of just a balancer. I made a charge adapter for my ProBalance6 and it balances when it charges. Easy to do and fun to learn. There's a whole lot of reasons for doing this and not post balancing

                          Either way....the 600 is awesome

Custard is quite sturdy stuff if you stamp up & down really fast on it you will not sink !!
