  • I am insane! (Apparently!)

So I Have finally gone insane!

That is the general consensus from all my mates who have seen what happened to me in the last 2 1/2 months.. From a foam PicoZ to (I can't believe it yet) a T-Rex 600 N..*

Yup, I know!! Just about trying to hover a Twister and ended up buying a big one. Am I ready for this step yet? hmm I guess I'll just have to see what I brought upon myself..

As I write this and through the last couple of days I have been saying (to myself) and to everyone why is that a big size heli is easier to fly because of this and that and the other.. (Not that I don't think that's true, I think I'm trying to justify to myself my impulse buy) *

It actually started by me thinking (and I'm saying just thinking) that maybe I should buy another blade/twister in case I crash mine so I can still fly and don't have to go home straight away with a flying day wasted..*Now!.. That somehow snowballed in about 12 h of me checking out the market for a used blade/BNF version to checking a couple of 450 on the forum for sale to considering a Rappy 30 with all the toys (and I would like to emphasize for the record that all was for research purposes only).

As soon as I reached the T-Rex stage of research it just felt like the perfect heli and not even 5 min later I saw one for sale and I bought it on the spot..*

Oh man!! I am excited, but at the same time I'm scared.. I'm just getting to grips with my Twister and here I am with a completely different ball game..*Please be patient with me as I will probably have lots of questions and queries, I have some really good guys at my club that will help me with it but my curiosity and hunger are sometimes overwhelming *

And as always, thank you all for your support so far.. It actually makes me proud to be a heliaddict and I love it

    Cheers,*

Sounds just like me when I first started out. Girlfriends parents bought me a pico z for christmas once, then a week after I bought a Twister Medevac. Month after that I bought a Twister 3d Storm and then 2 months after I bought a Trex 600 NSP.

        Addictive isn't it lol.

Good luck with the build on the 600. You will love it.

You should probably buy a Trex 250 and a 500 as well as they are great learning tools.

Yeah, save your twister/blade cash and keep it ready for TREX 600N spares. Chances are you'll not want to go back once you've got the 600 up and running.

I had a similar logic when I was buying a car once.
See if you can follow this.
I was looking to reduce my fuel bills and at the time was driving a 2.0 Mondeo.
The thought of going LPG sounded good.
I looked into this and found that a conversion was going to cost in the region of around £2500.
Next I thought that to get my monies worth out of the conversion I should put it into a newish car so I could run a much longer time with the conversion before the car needed to be scrapped or sold on.
This meant that I started looking for a car around the £12000K mark.
Well for that sort of money I could get something nice!
Next thing I knew I was looking at a 5.5L V8 Mercedes CLK 55 AMG!!!
Believe it or not I bought it and at around 21mpg I was worse off than when I started but boy did I love it. 347BHP limited to 155MPH and more torque than you could shake a stick at.
And I think my wifes logic is screwed!

Thanks Richard.. I know how addictive it is now.. : )

And i bought it already built (hence the rash decision and the fact that it had pretty good gear on it).. It needs some work, need to install the receiver, and change the bearing in the engine (was told it's a wise thing to do just to have piece of mind) and learn how to maintain and build the thing

However, i know i need to build one myself at some point (another excuse to buy another heli in the future) lol!!
