  • Help

Hello everyone, i have been and had quite a few lessons now, and thought it time to fly my own, however i have just started it up today, and all seems fine, exept the taking off part, the heli engine rpm goes up, but no lift????? Im guessing the pitch must be out but not sure?

The engine rpm goes up till almost at max then there is a thuring noise and just goes unstable??

The blades are ballanced fine, and all sorvo's ok, just not sure on the problem??

    Any help would be gr8!

    Has this heli even flown?
Do you have a pitch gauge?
Check - Have you selected the correct model?

      Yes it has,
      no i dont :-)
The thing is, i bought it off a mate, however it dident come with a transmitter, so i have set a Futaba fp-t8up for it, when accelerating the pitch servo moves to max equally, but dont seem to lift?

Check you have the pitch servo working the right way & that it isn't putting negative pitch on. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with futaba radio's so the other guys will nodoubtedly help out when they all get back from the 3DM.

Sounds like the pitch servo is working in the wrong sense, i.e. pitch going -ve.
The leading edge of the rotor blades should move up in relation to the trailing edge as pitch increases.

I would be very careful if attempting to fly this heli without a known good Tx configuration as it sounds like there isnt a good throttle/pitch curve etc. and an out of control nitro heli is not a nice thing to be near!

Swash plate should go up when you raise the throttle stick, tilt right when you push the right stick right, tilt forward when you push the right stick forward - i.e. the swash plate should follow the right stick and go up and down with the left stick.

Also, check that the rudder and gyro sensitivities are correct. It sounds as though the throttle is going the right way which is lucky.

              Seconded all the above posts.

If your not sure, please be very careful - it could hurt or kill you or someone else very quickly!

Check swash plate movement as indicated before.

Best bet, get someone more experienced to help you on the spot so to speak.
