  • Splashed out on 2 Buzzfly heli's !!

    Hey all,

I got a PiccoZ for Christmas and had a ton of fun with it. Having decided that I deffo wanted a heli for my b'day, I set about deciding which one

I've really indulged, and gone for the Buzzfly CX and a Buzzfly SE "bind and fly" (without the transmitter, as I get on with the CX). This way I get to do all my learning inside (reality is I'm home late from work) and have a couple of heli's that should start me off, then challenge me. Intention is, once I've progressed enough on the CX, I'll move on to the SE.

My only bad news is me b'day isn't till next week.....

Excellent site BTW - a fine gathering of know-how and community.

    Cheers,
    Des

          Welcome to the forum

I have been learning to fly using a Walkera 4#3B which is the same as your buzzfly SE.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I am.

Did you get the brushless motor version?

I'm pretty sure that I haven't got the brushless motor. Once I know what I'm doing, I hope that a bunch of the fun I have is upgrading/learning ... upgarding/learning etc...

Really looking forward to getting stuck in...

First of all welcome to the forum! IMO you could check out Terence at chinesejade for the heli's you are looking as they are essentially rebadged of the walkera 5g6-1 and 4#3. You can buy both the helis with one tx which is what you are intending to do. Go for the brushless in the 4#3b to save you the trouble of replacing the main motor!
Either way, you are going to like those two helis!

Hey Des, I've just bought the cx and a bnf se, how you getting on with the se?, I've been trying to fly mine for the last four days and haven't had her up for long at all, I flew her at the theatre I work in tonight, nudged the power a little too much and sent her speeding out into the auditorium only to turn round and smack into the balcony and fall ten feet to the stage, only thing that went was a ball on the training gear, mine is almost impossible to trim at the moment so perseverence is obviously a must, love the cx, fast compared to my (whispers quietly in shame) Century Spirit and much more involved flight, love it.

Anyone who has any advice on how to properly set up an se would save me from hacking shards out of the theatre balcony, I would be most grateful.

                  Hope u like the helis.

                      Hi Chaps,

Brodie - the theatre sounds a great place to do some learning

I love my CX. It's giving me all the learning I need, and doing so whilst my other half is watching Corrie!!

I too am having mucho problemo with the SE. In order to get a "relatively" stable I'm having to nearly use full trim. Have pranged both the CX and SE a few times, all I've needed to replace was pinions on the CX and tail rotor on the SE.... not bad really. Unfortunately I'm still waiting for my training gear from Buzzflyer (not in stock).

Bottom line is that I'm struggling with the SE is very difficult for me - as you say perseverence is essential. I'm deffo going to keep at it. I'll re-iterate, if anyone has advice on setting up the SE, I too would be very grateful.

                      Cheers,
                      Des

Hey Des, I'll post up a pic of the venue, it is a great place to practise, especially of a night when we have no shows in, the stage is quite big and then there's the auditorium too, only thing about the auditorium is it's obviously full of seats etc so if I lose control and the heli is out there the risk of damage is quite a bit higher, the cx has plenty space to fly tho so I'm having a lot of fun with that, I'm now wondering how a Blade 400 would do in the theatre, there's a lot of old stained glass in the room, I've already smashed a flourescent to smithereens with a coaxial so will have to be careful, let me know how you get on with the se.

                          Cheers.

                              Eddie.

How good were you with he buzzflyer before you moved up to a bigger heli?

And how easy did you find the big heli after your buzzflyer practice?

Im getting good with the buzzflyer now, I can almost fly backwards circuits.

On the sim I can fly around just fine, do flips, stall turns and tic tocs (clumsyly but I can do them) and fly inverted for a bit (but I can only hover, not fly around as I dont have good inverted orientation)

I have the belt CP but im still worried about crashing it

Sorry to take us totaly off topic.
I will post some buzzflyer advise in a bit.
