Better, Stronger, Faster Helicopter

Hey guys,

For the past 2 months I have been flying my friends E-Flite Blade CX RTF Electric Coaxial R/C Heli. I would say that I have logged in about 40-45 hours with it and I was very good when I first started and now I have become very good with it, but it has limited capabilities and it is starting to get boring to my friend and I.

Anyways the titile basically tells you guys what I want. Some things it doesn't tell you is that I would like it to be an outdoors heli, I would like it to be able to fly a minimum of 20 feet in the air (I live in California and I think my elevation is about 300 feet) and I would also like to be able to learn how to fly inverted with it. We will both be getting the same thing once we decide what we are going to get(that's where you guys come in lol)

I was looking at the Corona and the T-Rex 450XL (CDE) but people on other forums said I would be going way over budget if I wanted those(I do not want to go above $400-$450)

So I did some searching and I found this http://www.trendtimes.com/6chdrrche.html. What do you guys think of this and what else will I need to make it fly?

The only thing I see wrong with it is that it says "...and can be flown right in your own living room or your backyard." Does that mean that it has to be a very calm day for me to fly outside?

I've never quite caught the bug on the micro helis to a major degree. I did have an MS Hornet which went as quick as it came, which is the heli your looking at is based on.

If your looking for something that will give more power, far stronger and in the long run has millions of parts for those repairs and aftermarket upgrades then the T-REX is they way to go.

The one your looking is good, but the Align T-REX has very much set the benchmark on the micro market since its launch and everywhere you look on the web they are on offer.

Yes it has to be very calm to fly, any half decent breeze you will find it a struggle.

The T-rex seems to be great but it will just go way over my price budget to get it.

Do you know of any other heli's that can fly inverted outside that are under $450 and work well? If not what are the best and fastest heli's that can't fly inverted but can fly outside well?

Also is it hard to change motors in heli's?

Twister3D can fly outside and will loop/roll fly inverted....


You pay for what you get there a great little Heli but beware they can
break easy enough. Trex is a lot stronger and is a good option.

What else would I need for the Twister3D to get it in the air?

All in about 240 pounds.

I belive a Hummingbird Pro 3D is roughly the same or a bit cheaper
kitted out. These can also fly ouside like the Twister 3D. Also loop
/roll fly inverted etc.

Not seen the Hummingbird fly but apprently there quiet nice machines.

You will require a Transmitter as well and i'd recommend the Futaba 7c.

as a micro heli flyer i wopupld say iffy is an understatement...a very slight cross wind will have your heli 15 yard in no time

I'd stay away from the hummingbird Pro. They can do all the 3D stuff, but are pretty twitchy models compared the the Trex and twister.

Menace...the Trex is not anywhere as unstable as some may think. It's a very powerful machine.

All the ones you're looking at look good (go for the ones that have better ESC etc).

Bear in mind you will need to buy spares etc. And the stock receiver and esc are suspect.

Have a look at my two in the classifieds here. Make an interesting offer! haha Seriously though...a lot of spares and top quality ESC etc.
