  • Balancers

    Hi,

I already have a Pro-peak prodigy 2 charger and I am about to start charging Lipos with it. Having read another members post about charging I understand the rules etc.

My question is, Can an aftermarket balancer such as the thunder power be bought and used with the Pro peak and if so how do you do so?

I use a Flight power balancer and connect it to the LiPo via the balancing lead before charging - let it do it's thing and when all the led's are out - hook up the charger which happens to be an Graupner ultra duo 30 and commence charging .

Thanks for the reply. I have had a look at the flight power balancers and they seem a little cheaper than the Thunder power ones. Does every Lipo have the same balance lead connector? I ask as the lipo(s) I have bought are extreme power but I ain't got em yet.

I don't want to order a balancer and find it is not suitable. The lipos are 3s 2100's 11.1 v

      Cheers

By what I see each battery has it's own standard of balance lead/plug however if you Ok with electrics, have a soldering iron and volt meter, you can buy the rainbow lead from FlightPower to 'convert' your battery balance lead to Flightpower type with up to 5 cells.

I am having to make my own as they don't sell a lead for the 6S pack as of yet, I will cover this on the web site in the next day or so.

That may help you if you go the FlightPower way with the lead they sell for your pack and I will show the conversion etc.
Fly today, tomorrow it may be too late !!

Thanks, I will wait unti the Lipos turn up and then post a pic on the forum, that way those "in the know" can help me out. I just wanna get everything correct before charging etc as you know these battery packs are not cheap and can be dangerous so the more info I am armed with the better.
