  • An update on my progress

    Hi guys.

Ive just made another video of my flying.
Ive got the tail under control now and im much more confident flying side on.
I can do some quite nice turns but I dont have much space and I find im picking up too much speed and its hard to get the heli slowed down.

Now i have the heli setup properly I can do a good pirouette but if I spin too fast it really messes up the gyro. (jump to 1m30s to see this)

Im still finding nose in hover very difficult, I can manage ok if im flying the heli forwards, but If I end up nose in unexpectedly I often push the sticks the wrong way and crash into the wall.

Ive also made myself a cell ballancer so that I can charge four cells at a time.
The cells are connected together with 1ohm resistors, it takes a few hours for them to equalise (to within 1/1000th of a volt)
The switch on the top of the box shorts out the relay so I can use the same plugs to charge the cells.
The rotary switch lets me switch the multimeter between cells so I can check they are all the same voltage before I charge them.

Oh.. and here is the video. I tried to upload it in HD but im not sure if that will work or not. Let me know if it does

You should do Mart, they are great little helis and they are so strong
I must have crashed mine a hundred times and its only cost a few pounds to fix the damage. With the brushless motor they are much more reliable.
Now i can charge four packs at a time I should be able to fly 40min every day so im getting lots of practice.

I just did another pack and managed alot more nose in flight.
Im trying to fly ten seconds tail in, then ten right side, then ten nose in, then ten left side, then tail.. then go back anti-clockwise and repeat
When im bored with this im switching between nose and tail with no stop side on, but I still find this very hard.

            Holst.
To help crack the nose in, while nose in if the rota disk dips right correct it by moving the right stick on the tx to the right too. Likewise, if the disk dips left, move your right stick to the left too. By simply moving your aileron in the same direction as the rota disk, you'll have it cracked in no time.

Good flying there & good luck.

I think ive almost got nose in sorted now

Bad news is that the bearings that hold the tail rotor on my heli have worn out and collapsed. I have flown it quite alot but I expected them to last longer than this.

Bit annoying that I cant do any more flying over the weekend untill I get some replacements, and at £3.50 they are not cheap
