  • Check out my modified Eflight Blade CX3 :-)

    Hi,

I had my CX3 in quite a few pieces as I had to replace the outer rotor shaft, so while it was in pieces I thought I'd ad a few bits and see if I could do something about the body that was, frankly, a bit naff (I'm not really into 'Police' helicopters )... so...

    We have...

    - Eflight Blade CX3
    - Aluminium swash plate
    - Aluminium lower blade head unit
    - Aluminium top inner shaft bearing
    - Modified BLADE400 bodywork
    - Modified WIRE COATHANGER tail unit

I've also tweaked the gyro gain to reduce tail twitch, so I'm now very happy indeed with it... especially as it's been out of action for nearly a week while I got a replacement top outer shaft bearing!

Here's an initial flight, but I've since bound it to my DX6i controller (instructions HERE) and I'm sorting the trim out etc. It feels like a masive improvement already, but my batteries are dead so playtime is over for tonight...

It must be true when they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder because that's one ugly looking creation from where I'm sitting.

Actually you might be right , enthusiasm probably got the better of me, but it's my first 'major' helicopter rebuild and modification... and it still works... so I'll work on the aesthetics, OK?

Maybe Eflight will get their butts in to gear and release some decent bodywork soon...

Oh yeah... I'm waiting for new skids to be delivered too, which might help matters...

From looking at the pic you may want to straighten your flybar as it looks bent from where im looking
wander if you could still hang your shirt on the hanger and when its just come out the wash just fly around and it will dry in no time.....Now thats what i call energy efficiency lol

The flybar was a bit bent, but I've since straightened it. I think I've now got a slight bend in the inner shaft though, because the top rotors have developed a significant vibration after another little crash.

I really should stop flying in tiny spaces with tons of turbulence and no room for error...
