head holding gyro setup problems

iv sorted it, (well me and my test pilot) we was getting nowhere with the jp hl800 gyro so we stick art tech gyro on was sorted.i got my first go no my heli. iv bought my self a 401 now which should be with me next week and my test pilot has kindly lent me his art tech so i can continue my learning.
back to the dx7 i asked about in earlier posts, i had to reassign the gear switch to gear which worked the gyro because of the 6ch rx i had the gyro connected to the gear port which caused the switch to do nothing.

Nice 1 Jon mate.I knew you would sort it out.I had the same problem with my gyro on my Blade 400 which is practically the same as the HL800 you were using,and to be honest they are sh** thats why i got myself a GY401 gyro which is just ace so i know that you won't go far wrong with this on your heli mate.

I've been used to using a gyro screen on the dx6I. That gives numbers 0 to 100 with 0 as max rate and 100 as max heading hold. I'm converting to a DX7 I've now got to convert from gyro sense 0 to 100 to atv from -100 to +100 as I want to use the gear switch with output on the gear channel as I have a 6 channel rx.

Could someone check my figures please, and the conversion?

0 -100
25 -50
50 0
75 +50
100 +100

Conversion.
1. Start with gyro sense figure to convert (eg 70)
2. Take away 50 ( gives 20)
3. Double it to give 40

I did look through the posts but couldn't find one. Sorry if it's been covered before.
