Strange noise?

Hi All
Just been flying aroung around practising for my A. The guys had previously set up my txer for idle up and I used it tonight. Thing is, when I descend slowly or reduce the pitch slightly when hovering (to about half stick) the exhaust note changes - it almost sounds like its rattling. One of the guys said it's running lean. I richened it up and the noise happens a lot less often. Do I need to worry or should I just get on and fly it!

Should I turn the small screw and leave the needle alone?
What sort of amount should I adjust at a time?

i have never seen a hyper do it.

what fuel
muffler
plug

are you using and what is the needle and screw set to?

Hi Ade,
Magnum 12 % Fuel
standard OS exhaust
OS No 8 plug
Screw set central (near as makes no odds)
Needle set approx 1.6 turns out.

I tried richening up the screw (didn't notice anything except had to knock the trim up a bit otherwise it stalled). I also tried opening up the needle valve a couple of clicks as well - it now only does the noise occasionally but it then struggled with a full pitch climb out

Will fly again Sunday afternoon and report back. I have richened the low end slightly and will see how she flies.
