  • Heli servicing.

    Hi,
Just wondered if anybody has a regular 'service' schedule for their electric helis, and if so, what does it include? My mini titan has a good few hours flying on it now, im unsure if i should maybe replace things like gears, bearings, tail belt etc before they become worn? Or is it a case of ' if it aint broke, dont fix it'? I do regularly inpsect it for wear and damage, but id hate to crash it because id missed something!
    Cheers.

It's good to regularly check your heli and also test it if you can. Doing pre&post flight checks are good aswell to diagnose any problems. I'm a bit of a nervous flyer anyway so I do check my heli regularly.
Better to check than not check your heli.

I think everyone has their own schedule for checking heli's.
I give my models a clean at the field and then another clean at home. This is where I will find anything requiring attention. In particular, I look for chafing on servo leads, battery wires etc. Check the gears for backlash and dust. If you're doing a lot of flying, also look at the bearings.
