  • dx7, what everything does

been looking at my dx7 and other than the sticks i dont know what the other bottons and setting mean/ do.
what im wondering is there a link or will someone explain what does what.
ie flight mode n 1 and 2, trainer hover pitch, elevator d/r ect ect.
iv looked thought the manual and it doesnt give a total newbe like myself any info.
but all the bottons and switches look good tho but the saying all the gear and no idea springs to mind.

    cheers Jon
    Thanks

I'll have a quick crack at an answer.

      Starting top left:

FLT Mode - Switches between 3 different combinations of Throttle and Pitch curve allowing you to do aerobatics and inverted hovering etc

Elevator D/R - Selects two different settings for the Elevator (makes the heli pull up and nose down) allowing the pilot so slow or soften the response during fast forward flight.

GEAR - Used in scale models to raise or lower retracts and also to switch between Heading hold or Rate mode on a Gyro.

Hover Pitch - Adjusts the blade pitch around centre stick to increase or decrease the hover point. (Used when the hover point is set to half stick)

Hover Throttle - Does the same as the Hover pitch only alters the throttle settings. (Used when the hover point is set to half stick).

AUX 2 - Can be used to control an engine governor or lights on a scale bird.

Aileron D/R - Selects two different settings for the Aileron (makes the heli tilt left and right) allowing the pilot so slow or soften the response during fast forward flight.

Hold - Rudder D/R - used to hold the throttle at idle to disengage the clutch during starting (Safety) and to practice auto-rotations for an engine failure.

Left stick - Collective (up and Down) and Rudder (left and right).

Right stick - Cyclic (move left right, forward and backwards).

Think that covers the VERY basics of the DX7 switchs. Obviously there are the programming buttons at the bottom but you should refer to the manual to use them.

      Cheers

I would add, the button on the back (initially used to bind the receiver to the tx) changes the power level to low for use as a range check. Hold the button down and walk away from the model and see when it stops working.
