  • ESky Honey Bee CP2 - help needed

Hi all. I bought a ESky Honey Bee CP2 for my father for Christmas and have a number of questions in order to help him get up and flying.

    1. There was no mains charger in the box, so I'll buy him a universal one this weekend and set it to 12V for the battery. Anyone have any idea of what sort of current is needed for decent charge times? 500mA?

    2. I will also buy a serial cable so that he can connect the RC controller to his computer and fly the simulator first. Where can I download the software for this? Any tips on getting this to work? There are only two serial connectors on his computer, so the RC will have to replace either the mouse or keyboard, which?

    3. Any general tips on flying the ESky Honey Bee CP2 out of the box for the first time would also be appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance.

http://www.flying-model-simulator.com/ That is a free simulator, and i dont think a HBK2 is a great heli for starting, but i have seen a few people on the forum start of with one! I have lots of HBK2 parts, so if you need any, just PM me!

You'll need a charger that looks like a car battery. Probably 2amps or more. An old car battery fed from a car charger works ok. Use a low amp rate on the car charger.

Older sims used the game port. Newer ones use the usb port. You used to be able to get ones for printer ports and serial ports.

hiya, igot 2 of these, if you remove all packaging from the box there should be a charger in the bottom underneigh the polystyrene. it took me 5 days to find this. lol

the cable for the sim is usually a usb cable and fms is easily downloadable just search for it in google although like most on here will tell pheonix is best ( my next purchase )

you could try this link, its beeter than FMS and its free

          Thanks, but still need help!

OK, so we found the charger under all of the packing - well hidden, I wonder how many get throw away!

Have downloaded various simulators to try, but now are struggling to find the right cable for the RC controller. The socketr on the back, which I thought was a serial socket like for a keyboard or mouse, turns out to be an S-Video connector type. Anyone know where we can find an S-Video to USB cable?

          Thanks again.

I'm just in the same process of setting up a sim(phoenix). The cable with the sim goes usb to 3.5mm jack(like a headphone) I've then had to get the 3.5mm to tx socket cable separately. You need the 3.5mm to usb section which you can buy for about a fiver. I saw buzzflyer have got them on their site.
Hope this is of some help.

Reality Craft RC heli master £20 and you get a USB 6 channel transmitter with it. but i would recomand the pheonix flight sim as its very good.
