CP twister will be good to kick off with. Only thing with small choppers are they are mega twitchy so expect a few smash ups. keep the spares fund going for a good few months (and then some) and you'll be away.
      good luck.

        Hi buddy

Welcome to the forum Bro, "eggbeater" you've gotta tell us where that came from, my warped sense of humor (mainly smut) has a few, lol.

Anyway your gonna have a blast mate, a few guys at the club have the CP Twister Gold and they fly them really well, but due to experience.

They come supplied with very basic 35mhz Trannys which haven't the finesse of something like the Blade 400 set up which has the DX6i TX.

To give you an example at the club I'm helping out a friend who's just started flying without his training gear using a TS3D and a DX6i.

I've been watching his progress with interest but noticed he's machine was very twitchy, he flew very well despite of this but once the T/Gear was off he was somewhat scared as we all are at first, so I helped him program softer controls to the Swash Mix, EXPO, and trimmed out a few bugs and after a few minutes he's machine was much more "relaxed," smoothly moving from left to right, forward & reverse, which made the flying without T/Legs more pleasurable, as the machine moved more gracefully then all over the show as the programs were set before, as to the instruction manual.

So you see with the Heli you've been recommended you won't have that kind of digital control over the flight surfaces and once your at a point where the T Legs come off you'll have to learn kinda the hard way, OK it's all about mastering your machine, but for the little extra the B400 or TS3D with the DX6i will help you tame the Heli' and hopefully reduce the crash repair damage.

There's nothing to say you can't learn on one at all, but there's another line of thought to ponder over.

I wish you success, and always ask for help, it's the only way to learn.

But if your thinking of taking this up semi-seriously then I'd recommend buying the DX6i & Phoenix Sim, OK it's not as fulfilling as seeing and owning a machine, but you'll be surprised just how much fun it really is, and once it's all set up and you crash after crash, which you'll do when you start, you'll realise how deep that would hurt the wallet had they been real flying accidents.

I'm a newbie, and following the excellent advice on this forum, I've bought Phoenix and a decent Transmitter. Eventually, I will use the Tx once I get a big heli, but in the meantime, I am getting plenty of practice on the sim. Now, I may be a slow learner, but it's taken me from mid January to be able to hover properly on the sim. Crashes? hundreds, possibly thousands.

Whatever route you go, you are sure of massive support on here.
