You have to assume that a cell might be flat as NiMhs can discharge fairly quickly. Mine gets up to about 11.5 volts. We used to overnight charge before flying when we had 500mah NiCds in the tx. They talk about forming the battery, don't know what it means though. If you let one of the cells go flat, then all the others gang upon it and make it go reverse polarity. Best to get a new battery then.

My first DX7 battery only went up to 10.0v, turned out to be a duff cell. The new one will go to 11.9v but will only hold this level for a short while, dropping back to 11.5 or 11.6 volts.

      hope this helps.

i have been using the outrage battery machasm mentioned in my 9x2, i get 10hrs "on" time per charge, the dx6 should be similar amount of time.

when it gets to 11.0v you have about 1hr useage left, when it gets to 10v stick it on charge.

I took the FP option with mine when I had it as I found the tx batt was absolutely naff at holding its charge.

            Got mine from Midland

Lipos are much more predictable than NiMhs as we know the voltage of each cell. There are new Nimhs that keep their charge for much longer. Hybrio is one brand. Nimhs are a pain. They shouldn't be slow charged above C/40 and they give false peaks that can stop a charge too early.
