It depends what your using the servo's for. They are not suitable for anything more than a 30 size nitro (ie raptor 30v2) & 50 size electrics (Trex 600e) Most people will recommend that you dont use them at all as the are prone to failure!

There were instances of the output shaft breaking on DS821 servos.
Many folks are worried about using them for functions other than throttle.
however many other people are using them for up to .50 nitros successfully. Its quite possible that the problem output shafts were just an early batch but as with all things in this hobby once they heard or experienced issues many folks are reluctant to try an item again.

The DX7 outfits all come complete with servos it seems. Some shops such as inwoods will sell them without servos (they take them out and sell the servos separately). The DS821 are quiote popular I think with plane fliers.

When I was learning some time ago I used these on a T-Rex 600e for 10 month without one problem.

Survived a couple of crashes and never had a failure or any stripped gears.

As quoted I presume one bad batch cost them some severe bad press and have never got rid of it.

If I were to only fly gentle circuits and loops/Rolls etc again I wouldnt hesitate in using them again.

I am too considering possibly using the DS821s to replace the analog metal geard ones on my Raptor 30,

but im sending my heli to Lee, so ile let him decide
