  • Yet another noobie joins the ranks

Hi, yes yet another newbie to join this highly addictive hobby.

Already on my 3rd helicopter in 2 months.

Got a cheap 2 channel as a present, then bought a 4 channel a couple of weeks later, then today my 6 channel Esky Honey Bee King 3 showed up.

Now already have a ton of questions but thought it best to say hello first.

Thanks Lee, I guess my first question is about charging batteries, I am using 1800mAH batteries and the first one took around 3 hours and 45 minutes to charge, basic charger to be fair. Thinking I may need a upgrade and was looking at this Imax B5 Charger(http://www.kooltoyz.co.uk/imax-batte...300-p-377.html

My technical knowledge is terrible by the way so go easy on me.

      Any advice is must welcome.

Yeh mate sounds normal unfortunately they just get you buy and are just cheap. This is the charger to have :- http://www.aurorra.co.uk/aurv2/produ...ils.php?id=108
Majority will tell ya the same on here. You will need to buy an adapter board for your battery of choice. If im correct your batteries will have the JST-XH balance adapter so you will need this board:- http://www.aurorra.co.uk/aurv2/productDetails.php?id=12
You will need a PSU to run it from:- http://www.aurorra.co.uk/aurv2/productDetails.php?id=18
            Buy once buy right mate
You wont need to go past this charger its all you'll need and you can hook it up to your computer to see graphical readouts etc. It really is a fantastic piece of kit. I said it before and ill say it again... theres 3 bits of kit ive purchased in this hobby i cant do without...
1/Cellpro 10S charger (basically the 10 cell version of the charger im suggesting you go for)
            2/Phoenix RC flight sim
            3/Spektrum DX7 TX

            Cheers

About £100 for that set up, I'll look into that for sure, my mate needs one as well so will send him the info.

              Thanks

as i say cant really go past that IMO, most will say the same bud. Its super easy to use. You can hook it up to your pc and it has upgradeable firmware etc. Its all good and you cannot go wrong The 10S is pretty much the same but can charge 10 cells. If ya can afford it go for that one. Definately if ya know ya gonna be charging more than 4 cell lipos in the future. They are dedicated lipo chargers and balancers and in some cases can actually recover your packs.

                Cheers
