  • Blade MCX technical help please

    Hi all,
I'm new to RC helicopters and this forum so please bear with me on my virgin post.
After some research and advice I have started with the Blade MCX - a choice I'm pleased with. It's rtelatively easy but great fun as a starter model to learn the basics. As expected, it's taken a couple of knocks and had the inner shaft and flybar replaced but flown fine afterwards.
However, recently it's started to "reciprocate" in hover. It sort of hovers in a circle about 1 foot diameter (300 mm for the metrics) and I can't correct this with any trimming. Flys fine still but spot landings are difficult as the effect is worse with ground effect.
All the mechanics and linkages seem fine.
Any suggestions as to the cause and correction from you experienced members would be much appreciated.
By the way, I've ordered a new set of blades just in case it's a balance problem.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks for the prompt replys and welcomes Ron and Brian.
Flybar's fine but I will check out the other suggestions and try with the new blades when they arrive.
Looking forward to moving on to more challenging models in time. I fancy a Buzzfly SE as the next step for indoor flying. Any comments?

Thanks Mike - Could be an expensive bug. I plan to stay indoors but I bet they all say that!
I got by without too much cost on rc slope soaring (gliders) but the paragliders have taken hold of all the best available sites and I'm too old for all the climbing now!!

Welcome to a very helpful forum. I've got tbe on my cx2, it does have the advantage of making it more difficult to fly. I'm trying to fix mine but so far it looks as though I haven't found the bit responsible. Does yours go round clockwise, looking from above? Mines about a two foot circle.

                Hi Chris,
Mine was more a sort of rocking motion - forwards, backwards with some left and right. Just given it a clean and touch of silicone spray on all the linkages and it seems much better. The new blades I have on order may completely cure the effect. I'll post the final result.
