    DX6i Mind of it’s own
Hi guys can you shed any light on this, I went out to my local park early Friday morning for some practice only had the B400 for 4 weeks and had my fair share of crashes, the first battery went fine with hovering and landing, next battery I had to re-trim then of again, this time I was feeling a bit brave and sent the heli out to about 25 yards the heli sem’t to be out of range for a split second then she came back tail first and landed fine I was chuffed my best day.

Friday afternoon with 2 battery’s charged I went out again fist battery went really well,
Second I had to re-trim then of again I hovered to about 8 feet and did a pirouette to the left it went well, then to the right this is when things start to go wrong she came straight down on to the training gear, thinking this was me we went back to about 8 feet for a few seconds then of out to about 25 yards, again she now seems to be at her range limit, so back she comes this time out of control and straight for me I had to duck, now she’s nose in so I shut the throttle down she banked to the right and landed up side down. Smashed the main blades, feathering shaft, tail fin, and 3 gears in the upper right servo, but I was pleased with my progress as I am teaching my self.

Wednesday with all repairs done I set out again to the park this time I couldn’t even get her of the ground and came back to inspect what was up, the throttle stick moved the front servo and the upper right servo the rudder was OK, the forward stick moved the front servo forward and the bottom servo down, pull it back and all the servos went mad, I checked the setting on the DX6i and they had all changed, I reset the DX6i back to factory settings and all seems well the battery level was 5.7v, so if you are not board by now dose any body have a clue what went wrong.
    Cheers Chris

You do realise that the throttle stick also controls the collective?
So when you move the throttle stick, not only will the heli start to spool up, but the swash (and hence all three servos) should start to move down.
If only 2 of the servos are moving have you checked that you have not stripped any teeth in the servos?
They are quite delicate and easily strip teeth.

Perhaps you should try a range check. There may be something wrong with your tx or rx.

Do you mean the park fly DX6?

The DX6i has always been full range as far as I know.

The dx6i is full range the parkfly dx6 is not, also what receiver do you have on your heli? i was gonna buy the ar6100e but after discovering it was only good for around 600 feet i bought the ar6200 which is a full range receiver, also as suggested above do a range check, stick your heli on the ground and walk 30 paces (around 90 feet) pull and hold the trainer switch and you should still have control of your heli, if not something is wrong
              Nik.

              Before you ask:

NO, you can't have a go

Hi after I reset the DX6i and put the factory settings back in all the servos seem to work correctly, I will check the range tomorrow if that doesn’t work I will nip it to Fast-Lads and let them have a look for me. Don’t know why the TX should have changed all the settings, any way we will see how we get on.
