  • Wooden blades

    Hi,
Getting more confident with my mini titan now, and starting to do fast forward flight and stall turns etc. Im currently using the stock thunder tiger wooden blades and they feel a bit flimsy and flexy, and you can really hear them working when the heli manouvres about. Are the wooden blades up to being clumsily thrown around the sky, or should i upgrade to carbon fibre?
    Cheers.

I think I'd upgrade to CF if I were you - there's a huge difference in performance with them

Yup time for a change to carbon .. and then you can up the headspeed as well .. Me I use JP carbons on my Titan .. But after flying the Torsions on my Knight it looks like the Torsions will be going on the Titan as well ... and they only £5 more as well .. result ...

I had SAB blades on my Trex and they were great, but died on Monday. (They didn't fare too well hitting the ground at 2800rpm)

Just putting new Radix on it in a minute

Thanks guys. Im assuming carbon blades are stiffer/stronger than wooden blades? The way the stock ones flex doesnt really inspire confidence in their strength, im concerned they will break in flight if im less than delicate with the throttle/collective!

That was going to be my next question! I recently fitted a scorpion -8 motor, which has a slightly higher kv rating than the stock one it replaced. I guess a better blade will be more reliable at a higher headspeed, and make more efficient use of the extra power?
