What batts & charger forTx

I have an old FF6 with a 9.6v 700mah NiCad pack in the back...this pack is around 10 years, It`s not been used much and does not hold much of a charge.. The charger is the original charger and takes 16 hours to charge the pack... What battery pack and charger would you guys recommend I replace it with?
I am a bit of a Camera freak and in the 2 cameras that use AA batteries the batteries are 2600 mah NiMh, so from this I would say the replacement pack for the Tx would now be a great improvement from the old type.. Advice please...

overlander do large capacity packs. I have a couple of 2500nimhs but you have to be careful with them. they need regular exersize or they get lazy.

a lot of guys in the USA are using 3s li-po. I havnt got round to finding a pack that fits in the hole yet. If you find one let me know.

the pro-peak prodigy 2 or Multiplex LM-5014 (same thing different case) are great value and will charge pretty much anything.
