  • Saturday's so good?? Or is it

    Hi all
In a well organised weekend, I got on with some work in the house to please the wife, rebuilt the old Kalt Baron 30, and have remained very restrained and not yet rushed into assembling the new Raptor, so I thought I would have a little fun.
Ist thing, check the Baron and if the wind calms down a little, off to have a fly. Wrong, forgot to charge the start pack, Battery Flat and that was that.
No problem, lets fly the twister 3D in the garder,
This isnt too bad, the wind is OK, practising hovering, and manouvering around the garden, all seem ok.
Change battery, lets have another go, this seems good, I should have known you cant have beautiful blue skys, falling wind, and good fortune. At this point the twister is coming back accross the garden, a couple of feet of the floor and getting very close to that small tree, I mean making contact with that small tree, Oh Poop.
Still now I have got something to do for the rest of tonight,
    The Damage
Main blades, Main Shaft, Blade Grips, Seesaw, servo gear set, and of course the mandatory tail drive drive. (still at least this time it was a proper crash)
THe unfortunate part, is I dont have the rotor grips or servo gear, so now Monday till 1 can finish rebuilding. (Hope the Baron Battery is charged)
    Onwards and upwards,
    Happy Flying all,
    Rob

    Qick Update
Twister nearly rebuilt, but better than that, I went out with the Baron this morning and had an absolutley fantastic time, its the first time I have practised more than just hovering off the floor, still find the orientation a little difficult and will turn it tail in if I need to, but had a couple of hours roaming around, broke my altitude record, must be 60'. and came home with a big grin on my face.
Now off to appease the better half for an hour or so, maybe another flight later today.
    Happy Flying All

I always find my Raptor 30 easier to handle than the small helis. I'd
say get the Raptor built up! You will find it a lot better than the small
      heli.
