Right, I've just adjusted my tail rotor wash on Phoenix and dropped it from 80% to 20% and it's made the left drift much better. It still drifts but not as much. My hovering, tail in, is much more stable (perhaps artificially so?)
Anyway, having got a little bored with trying to learn to hover side in and nose in, I thought "Sod it! Let's have some fun!"
Anyway, I'm just throwing the heli around the sky, getting into all sorts of pickles and then seeing if I can get out of it. And do you know what? I actually can get out of trouble on most occasions! RESULT!
I am also finding that, when I turn nose-in and fly towards myself, I can pretty much control my approach, bring the heli into a hover and then land.
I know it may sound daft but I feel I've learnt more in the last half-hour or so literally messing about than I have for a long time! Perhaps things are clicking into place? Perhaps I was stagnating in the more "structured" approach to learning? Whichever it is, I'm gonna keep throwing the heli around some more and then see how I fair!
