Hi All,
Just thought I'd post a quick message to let you know that I flew my Blade 400 for the first time on Saturday as the weather was so still where I live.
I put the training gear on and ran it up for a few very short hops in order to see what it was likely to do on take off. Once I got a bit more comfortable with the handling I tried some hovers a few feet about the floor and managed a couple that lasted about fifteen seconds before I had to "bail out" and get the heli down as quickly as possible.
I only had one minor mishap - a slight ground strike with one of the rotor blades which has taken the paint off, but no further damage.
What I couldn't believe though, was the number of small control corrections I had to make to keep it even vaguely stable in the air. This is something Pheonix didn't prepare me for fully, but I'll now know for future flights.
