  • Reversed gyro's?

    Hi all,

I recently got myself a walkera dragonfly 22E, tried hovering around abit...crashed...as to be expected, broke one of the little ball's of the flybar connector type thing, so replaced it with the old style replacement that comes with the heli in the box, now when increasing the throttle the smooth less thick sided parts of the blades go upwards, they should face downwards when increasing the throttle?

    Anyone got any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Hi

If I read this correctly, you mean the trailing edge of the blade goes up. First question is did you change anything on the radio?

If not and all was fine before you changed the ball link, check which way the swash plate moves. The swashplate is the drum on the shaft with 4 ball links on it. When you increase the throttle, it should slide up the shaft.

Can you be more specific as to where the link broke off? picture perhaps?

Yep the trailing edge of the blades go upwards. Its possible that i may of changed some of the switches on the back by accident , but have checked the manual and corrected any that were wrong.

Just checked which way the swash plate moves, its moving downwards?

Ok definitely sounds like CH6 may be reversed. However, I don't know the walkera so can't be sure. On most models, the swashplate moves up and this increases the pitch. However, on some models, like the raptor, the swashplate goes down to increase the pitch. I would check the CH6 reversing switch first. If this doesn't solve the problem, take it into your nearest hobby shop and get them to check it out.

Raptor 30/50 swash goes up for more pitch... 60/90 it goes down.

assuming you got the walkera off of ebay you are most likely going to get laughed out the shop or charged large amounts of dosh to get it sorted. having played with a few of the walkeras, some are ok, some are absolute crap and literally unflyable, so you might be up the creek without a paddle.

best way to check which way the pitch works is to look at the blades themselves. forward stick should make the front of the blades point upwards. this is the rounded edge not the sharp pointy edge.

and they say the bbc is dumbing down (not meant as an insult, just dont know how else to say it!)
