  • Sanwa RD 6000 Super GY401 Help

    Hello,

I'm hoping someone will be able to point me in the right direction. I have just helped my father put a GY401 on his heli. When the heli is turned on, the Gyro light does not got solid, it just flashes. I believe this is because the Sanwa 6000 does not have heading hold turned on?

I've tried looking, but now my head hurts and I'm stumped!

Can anyone advise what switch is meant to control this feature?

    Cheers

Looking at the manual page 55 and using that as a reference as I don't know the radio. It looks like you have to choose either a positive gyro setting or a negative gyro setting. If you have set a positive value and the gyro has not gone into heading hold then change the value to a negative one and try again.

By the way it is not the TX that needs heading hold turned on it just needs to send the correct signal to the gyro as I have indicated above.

You can always plug the gyro into the gear chanel the use the gear switch to go from rate too heading hold by using a posative and negative setting!

Forgive me if this is wrong. I have the same Tx but have not used it for a couple of years. It is 6 channel so there is no spare channel to switch a gyro from HH to rate & back. That's one of the reasons I changed to 7 channels.

You need the gyro to initialise in HH mode or it will not set, so the Tx settings need to be set on permanent HH mode. Sounds like you have the Tx in rate mode.

Where have you plugged the second lead from the gyro into (not the servo output, the other one?)

        Cheers

Thank you, I have now managed to sort it. It was a basic school boy error!

I have used channel 5 on the Rx which prev had a volt meter in it. And the problem was............. I put the lead into the RX the wrong way around!! What a fool.
