Ordered a Buzz Fly SE but have just been informed by a v.helpful member that the tx with this heli is not compatible with Phoenix. Are there there any other good sims with which I can 'sim fly' my SE? Help.....

Thanks. As I'm new to this Tom, maybe you can help. My Buzz Fly SE arrives in a few days.... having read alot of beginners threads and posts regarding newbies to this hobby, I feel I need to get adecent SIM to practise on, but how will I get a feel of 'the sticks' if the transmitter that comes with my heli is not compatible. Does the sim come with its own txm or is that a silly question? If I have no tx, would I use the keyboard keys? I am a complete novice as you can see.....Trex 250 ... won in 'Jamin_00' raffle!

Works fine here, too (well, 4#3B, which is the same heli). My heli shipped with a short lead to connect the transmitter to the normal USB adapter that ships with Phoenix.Neil H: Certified

Yes I have the same lead, it should be easy enough, but there isn't a 4#3b on phoenix, but it'll help loads learning real Heli flight.
The ultra micros look like a toy, "up and away you go." but theres the trap, ideally you need Sim practice.
Just take care, and any hot spots round your livingroom pad out with cushions or pillows, bubble wrap is also a good crash landing catcher.
I kid you not it isn't easy too Begin with, but with will and want to learn it'll become so easy to just do a hover you'll wonder why you had such a problem too begin with
flying Heli's is a real skill, and the buzz from being able to achieve something like this is the greatest gift of all
Good luck buddy, and don't be worried about asking as many questions as needed, we've all been there mate, but you'll have a blast
Best of luck

It's generally agreed here that a good sim is pretty much essential (there are always a few exceptions!) and the best is Phoenix.
This comes with a CD andf a special "dongle" lead which plugs into a transmitter (either directly or using an adaptor) and is needed because it is used as a copyright protection measure - the software won't run without it.
Phoenix requires a compatible transmitter - in any case, you wouldn't learn much from using the keyboard or mouse to fly - IMO the sim is good for teaching you which stick to waggle when! There's a few tutorials on the latest version...
I would strongly advise getting some sim time before flying the buzzfly - a chap at our local club has one and they're not easy to fly as a complete beginner...
